Haiku
A dead grasshopper;
Watch how I leap over you
And go on with life
I ran into the bathroom and slammed the door behind me. After making sure the lock was in place, I flipped the switch that turned the light on. It was hard to keep my eyes open as I looked around at the tiny bathroom. The linoleum tile was an aged white, the same color as the dirty walls. There was a blue towel with large bleach-stains lying on the floor taking the place of a bath rug.
I don't watch the news. I never watch the news. It's not that I don't care about current events, but I would rather read a newspaper than watch the news. In an attempt to get more viewers, they put the most..... dramatic, heart-breaking, disturbing stories that will make you feel sorry or scared for the world.
I was now conscious, and saw red; nothing but a luminous red. I turned onto my side, groaning with each movement. Slowly, I opened my eyes and I flinched at the sting that came to them when my pupils came in direct contact with the light of the blaring sun. I stared for a moment, out the window, wishing I could stay in bed all day. I looked at the clock; only 8:46. I can rest my eyes for another 15 minutes. I pulled the covers up to my throat, and closed my eyes.
My uncle was released from prison a few days ago. My mother called to tell me so. She said that he needs $500 to go to Vegas (his wife and kids live there). My parents have money saved in my bank account, so I had to give it to him. I spent my lunch yesterday going to take money out of an ATM, and finding my uncle to give him $500 cash.
