Sirius

It's strange not having Ellie here. I inherited her desk and computer monitor, phone and calculator. It's not the same, though. I miss our stare-offs and breaks and lunches and gmail chats. Le sigh.

Also, I have her extension. Oscar is out of the office, so I have to stick with her extension today, Marianna has mine, and Goose has Marianna's. Cynthia is happy about it.

Speaking of Cynthia, she and Bozz are downstairs sending out a huge mailing. I was asked to do it, but it's not our division's job to. Apparently, we're the only people who know how to use the stuffer machine... and by "we," I mean Oscar, Karen, me, and maybe Geoff (?). So, I went down there and trained Bozz on how to use the machine. And I put postage on the machine for the first time all by myself! I taught Cynthia about the postage amount for bulk mailing. I felt very helpful.

I'm going to get my flamingo tattoo with Cynthia. What do you think? I'm going to get it on my side. :)

I love you.

Moonlight

I sneeze a lot at work. All the time. I wonder if it has to do with the ghost that lives here...

I went to my mom's this past weekend. She had given a friend of hers that she initially got for Mia. She couldn't keep it because it kept biting Mia.... (she's had a few birds, so I'm not sure if it's the same one I'm thinking of). Anyway, she told me she gave it to her friend, but she kept dreaming about it at night. She said that her dreams made her think that the bird was unhappy in his new environment.

So my mom called her friend and asked for the bird back, saying that she was going to give it to Mia (which was a lie). The lady said that she could take it back, no problem.

My mom went to her house a couple of days later, but her friend wasn't there. She went to her backyard (is it trespassing if it's a friend's house?) and saw the bird in a cage. She saw that it was in that cage with another bird, though, and thought it'd be sad if she took her bird and left the other one alone.

So.

She opened the cage and let both of them go free.

Her friend called her later that day and apologized, saying that her husband must have left the cage open when he fed them. My mom acted surprised.

I thought it was super sweet of her to let the birds go. :)
