I went to the 7-11 to get stuff for a couple of friends, and because I didn't know what to get for myself, I just got a Lotto Scratch-Off Ticket. I came back to work and played it. I ended up winning another ticket. I still had time at lunch, so I went back to get another ticket (and my co-worker asked that I get him one, too). I just did this one, and I won yet another ticket.

Tiny Bug

I was outside, on the phone, smoking a cigarette. It was hypnotizing, watching the blue smoke float around in the air.

There was a bug on the floor, in the dirt. I was still on the phone, and just looked at it- not really thinking about it. I looked at it for a while, just watching it walk, and then it stopped on a tiny dirt clod... without giving it another thought, I stepped on the bug. I think it might have flown away in time, but I don't know for sure.

Why did I want to kill it? It's a living creature. Everything, no matter how big or small or how insignificant it may be, deserves to live. I felt bad after doing it, and I even gasped. I was just surprised at myself.
